In the wake of the recent increase in Ukrainian strikes on Russian energy facilities, Russian oil refineries have begun to take defensive measures against potential Ukrainian drone attacks by installing ‘response cages’. This follows the discovery that Russian military assets, including tanks and submarines, have taken similar defensive measures.
According to an image released on 27 April, the anti-drone buildings are located inside an oil depot and are presumed to belong to the Slavyansk ECO Group, whose logo can be seen in the image. The cages are made of strong mesh metal and are designed to protect the facility from aerial drone attacks.
