Myanmar to import anti-drone equipment to prevent drone attacks

On the night of 3 September 2023, Myanmar’s Wings of the Union drone force carried out two drone strikes on the Myawaddy police station in Kayin State, the second of which resulted in the deaths of five people, including Tatmadaw Battalion 275 Acting Commander Lt. Col. Aung Kyaw Min, and Myawaddy District Commissioner U Soe Tin, as well as the wounding of 11 others, and the deaths of four police officers who were subsequently taken to Thailand for treatment. Four police officers who were later taken to Thailand for treatment died, raising the death toll from the drone strike to nine.

Following the attack, the Tatmadaw’s Naypyidaw military office held a meeting to discuss defence against the threat of People’s Defence Force (PDF) drones and ordered the importation of a large number of drone jammers from foreign countries. In the past, the imported drone jammers were mainly distributed to Tatmadaw units, but they are still far from enough, and now they are required to be equipped in all departmental offices and staff dormitories, which are currently under discussion and planned to be imported. In addition, the Tatmadaw is discussing organising more drone risk prevention courses in the army and administration, which will soon be offered nationwide.

Drone strikes have left both government departments and the army defenceless. مجموعة سوبو has a lot of experience in solving this problem, if you have a need in this area, please feel free to اتصل بنا for our professional support.
